Events and Applicant Experience Manager

Contractual hours: 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) with occasional weekend and evening work as and when required

Location: Brighton, Manchester, Birmingham or remotely - with willingness to travel each month to either location.

Screen and Film School delivers high quality Film and Screen education, to train the next generation of creatives, technicians, and production professionals. Person Specification

The post holder will play a central role in the recruitment of new students to Screen and Film School colleges through focusing on in-house recruitment events, moving enquiries to applications, and converting applications to new students.

The role requires a methodical, professional, and personable approach as it will heavily involve collaborating with the wider marketing and admissions department, who are all at the forefront of student recruitment at Screen and Film School. Attention to detail and a desire to attain thorough knowledge of the courses and applicant processes is integral to the role as the successful person will be line-managing, supporting and training the local Applicant Experience Managers in each Screen and Film School location to ensure they’re able to communicate accurate and relevant information to all prospective applicants, ensuring they receive a high level of service at all times, deliver exceptional recruitment events and managing local conversion activity through platforms such as Salesforce.

You will be an ambassador for the film schools, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Admissions to achieve recruitment targets in not only acquisition of new students but quality of service and support to the department as well.

You will be required to attend key recruitment conversion events such as open days, applicant days and some external recruitment events. Therefore, this role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as public speaking experience within a professional context.

The role will also involve being able to adapt practices according to trends or information coming through data analysis therefore, an ability to compile data reports and provide narrative are important aspects to the desired skillset of the individual.

This role is varied in its work and has a significant impact on Screen and Film School’s recruitment activities across the colleges, involving travel between cities and interaction with various groups of stakeholders, therefore requires a professional and personable individual who is adaptable and proactive.

You will manage a team of Applicant Experience Managers to support the recruitment and conversion strategies and report to the Head of Marketing and Admissions to support delivering, implementing and monitoring all aspects of recruitment and conversion activity.

Essential Criteria

• People management experience
• Effective communication skills – written and verbal. Experience in communications on a team level, with management and with customers
• Knowledge of higher education within the creative education sector
• Knowledge of UCAS
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of recruitment cycle within education
• Computer literate: Microsoft Office skills with intermediate skills in Excel
• Ability to regularly analyse data and undertake KPI reporting
• Highly efficient in data reporting and management
• Proven professional customer service experience
• Team player
• Flexible approach and the ability to adapt to the requirements of the department and business
• Public speaking experience within a professional context
• Proven ability of prioritisation skills within a commercial or professional context

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge of Screen and Film School and the courses offered
• Knowledge of Salesforce/similar CRM products
• Experience of working within the creative education sector
• Good understanding of need to evaluate and experience of research & evaluation activity using surveys and feedback mechanisms

You will work with the Head of Marketing and Admissions on a weekly basis to meet the following key accountabilities:

Leading on the conversion funnel
To ensure as many of the enquiries and applicants are moving through the conversion funnel:
• Monitoring interest and engagement through various channels such as Eventbrite, Salesforce and admissions/student records system
• Identifying leads and the level of communication required depending on their engagement with Screen and Film School
• Be reactive and proactive to all applicants and their levels of engagement
• Ensuring the local Applicant Experience Managers are tracking and measuring their recruitment activity from open days, applying, applicant days to accepting a place and finally enrolling with Screen and Film School

Line Management
• Day-to-day line management of the local Applicant Experience Managers in each of the colleges
• Conduct weekly 1-1s and support them with their key accountabilities

Data Management
Oversee and assist with keeping accurate records for applicants:
• Ensure the correct data base is used for all processes followed
• Liaise with the Admissions Manager to ensure the correct reports are available for the department
• Develop processes for Salesforce and share best practice with direct reports and the wider admissions and marketing team

Open Day and Applicant Day support
• Ensure the local Applicant Experience Managers are delivering, planning, and implementing excellent recruitment events
• Ensure all reporting is accurate and evaluation activity is taking place to test and learn for the future
• Attend at least one Open Day and Applicant Day at each location per recruitment cycle to provide constructive feedback to the local Applicant Experience Managers
• Complete research and analysis on what USP’s applicants like about Screen and Film School, which could aid conversion communication including local city life, accommodation options and partnerships
• To lead on the planning and delivery of group-led events such as Easter Series, virtual open evenings and ‘meet the students’

Recruitment events
• When required, support the marketing and recruitment team with external events such as UCAS exhibitions
• Ensure safeguarding is followed by all staff

Additional Responsibilities when requested by the Head of Marketing and Admissions:
• Processing UCAS applications
• Assist with enrolment
• Assist with phone and email enquiries
